The Wine: Estate harslevelu from some of the most famous Crus of Tokaj. Dry, full bodied, fermented and aged in old Hungarian Oak barrels. A good food-wine, a perfect companion for your weekday evening chicken roast or casserole.
The Winery: Who already met "The Zsirai Girls" can't help liking them. A winery founded by their late father, the sisters and their mother turned a scetchy dream into one of the most dynamic wineries of Hungary. Producing in three wine-regions, their Tokaj Estate is now entirely managed by Kata, the younger sister, who is fast becoming one of Hungary's most talented female winemaker.
Grape: Harslevelu. "The Hungarian Lady" - light and flirtatious with honey and flowery fragrances on the outside, offering unexpected depths, dangers and complexity on the inside. Very distinct varietal, one of the few, that volcanic soil can not fully overpower, because of its ever-lasting honey-fragrance. Its wine is full of surprises all along its maturing cycle.
